I've been reading about this on the international wires allot lately. Brazil is trying to "improve" its image for the upcoming Olympic games to be held there and is limiting the amount of beach chairs that can be rented on the beach, hired Rudy Guilliani as a consultant, closed Help, etc. etc.
So whatever conservative voices there are in Brazil it seems its their day to be heard.

There has to be something else behind this protest. Brasil commercials have naked people in them. One of the samba schools had a little girl lead a Samba parade. This is usually the job of a tight body gorota in nothing but dental floss and paint.
