UK to help energy sector

During a visit to Santiago de los Caballeros, the British ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Steven Fisher, said that his government was willing to help the DR solve its energy problems. He said that Great Britain could implement development programs through the United Nations that would provide solutions to the energy crisis. He said that funding for such programs was available. Fisher said that Great Britain's vast experience in the electricity sector could help the DR. He said that he would be meeting with the executive vice-president of the State Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), Celso Marranzini shortly to discuss projects that would improve the current situation.
