Priest lashes out against politicians

Father Maximo Rodriguez, priest at Las Mercedes Church in Santo Domingo's Colonial City, has lashed out against politicians calling them hypocrites, cynical, turncoats and ambitious persons who keep most Dominicans poor and cocked up. The priest said that politicians only think about the people at the time of elections, and that they could not care less about the plight of others because "they steal the people's money." He also lashed out against the sovereign bonds, asking out loud if these would solve any problems for needy people. He also criticized the media, saying that it has sold out and is silent.
