Agents of the Central Anti-Drug Department of the National Police (DICAN) confiscated a cargo of 75 kilos of cocaine, distributed in 60 packages, during an operation in southwestern Azua over the weekend. The anti-drug agents had been on the trail of the traffickers for weeks. The operation was carried out at 3pm on the highway Azua-La Guanabana when the three drug traffickers were arrested, including a sergeant of the army, member of the J2 intelligence unit of the army. The arrested are army sergeant Leivin Francisco de Mata and civilians Emilio Cruz and Henry Alberto Ortiz. The sergeant was driving the vehicle.
