Presidente Beer announced it will sponsor the 7th edition of the Festival Presidente de Musica Latina that has always attracted the best of Hispanic performers.
Rafael Menicucci, president of the brewery, made the announcement yesterday during a press conference at Cane Restaurant. He said Puerto Rican Tony Mojena, would be the producer.
The event is scheduled for 27, 28 and 29 August at the Olympic Stadium. But Menicucci made the point that the Festival would be just the closing of an exciting Presidente beer-sponsored summer. The Verano Presidente will bring many great shows and promotions to the country, and primarily to Santo Domingo, on occasion of the celebration of the American Capital of Culture in Santo Domingo this year.
The Presidente Latin Music Festival was held in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. It was suspended in 2007 when the beer company announced a decline in sales due to new taxes levied on beer.
