I was considering a weekend get away to Blackbeards. Thinking 4 days 3 nights. Sent an email making inquiry for this weekend Mar 12th to the 15th (Friday to Monday), 2010.

Got a rather curt reply back as follows:

"We have NO rooms open for this weekend and a waiting list.

I respond “OK, do you have anything available in March or April 2010 for a 4 day 3 night stay. Prefer Friday to Monday or even Thursday to Monday”. I am waiting to hear back, NOT.

This must be a excellent resort with a solid business plan if they are booked solid with a waiting list. Maybe it’s me, but I felt a little less than welcome in their email response. Perhaps a better response might have been, "We are sorry. We are booked on the dates you have requested. Here are some alternate dates for you to consider as we look forward to having you as our guest".

The response I received felt like they were screaming at me with the capital "NO" and couldn't give a crap about me and my travel interests. But, hey they got it going on with a waiting list too. So they probably couldn't give a crap about me and a new customer opportunity.

I happen to live in the DR near Santiago and was thinking of a weekend breather at BB's to relax and party in a friendly environment. I visit Sosua once a month for a long weekend stay and thought this time I might check out BB's for a softer point and click scene.

But honestly, after reading about no BBBJ, survey questionaires at the end of my stay, drama with the chicas, house rules orientation upon arrival, the prices on their menus for food and drink, Taxi Mafia, and the final straw this curt email, they can continue to enjoy their successful business model without my patronage. I doubt they will miss me and I doubt I will miss them.

For those that are fans I am glad you have found your little slice of paradise. For me it's NEXT! I guess its back to the big leagues and another action packed balls to the wall weekend in Sosua. Thank you God! What was I thinking when I considered putting training wheels on my Hog and taking the pedestrian route to bliss?

I always think about making a comeback there but the round taxi mafia trip POP airport to BB is 90 bucks and I am talking US!!!!...at this price I can have TWO round trips from my house to JFK with a cab!!!! I mean where are we?!?!?!?!? smh!!

They do get booked up fast BB. You have to book usually at least 1-2 months in advance. Mostly they have return customers there from what i saw. I kind of felt the same way before i got there on the customer service issue with them. But i will say even with that i did enjoy myself once i arrived to the resort. The bbbj issue does suck, being that I enjoy that. Plain and simple they need to work on their communication either by phone or by email with their US or English speaking customers. Maybe they should let the women handle that. I am going there for the weekend during the Bikini contest. The rest of the time I will spend in sosua during the week. My fist time in sosua..

Why not try the Field of Dreams Inn. Closer to the casinos, golf and Sosua with chicas on site as well. A little cheaper and the food is better. Don't have any interest in hotel any more but I still drop in for the scenery and drinks.

If they are speaking Engles as a second language, I fully understand as I speak Espanol as a second language. Perhaps we both should have provide a bilingual email improving overall communications efforts. I read and understand Espanol very well and speak like a Cuban American from Miami. Go figure!

I was thinking of some serious R&R time for a long weekend with a full on automatic point and click remote control couch potato like weekend with chicas, food, cold beverages, water, beach, and good service with a nice room in a compound like environment.

But you have asked some very good questions. I am going to have to get back to you with my answers and/or justification. I am becoming nervous that my man card or worse, my monger card is at risk of suspension for a weak moment in even considering a reservation at BB.

While the staff was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable with drinks at the bar, gotta say that the talent on hand left a lot to be desired. Among the 20-25 girls that came out, there were maybe 2-3 that were even "doable" - the rest were mostly in need of a diet and a few trips to the gym. We were already busy coming up with alternate names for the place - "Field of Screams", "Field of No Opportunities", "Field of Nightmares", etc. Of course, these things are always cyclical, and within a few weeks they may have a more enticing crew on hand.

Also made it up to Blackbeards for dinner on what was a pretty mellow Saturday night. Poked our heads into the disco upstairs afterwards, but didn't see much going on, and headed on back to Sosua and Classicos.

BTW - the "no BBBJ" thing at Blackbeards is real - it's not just a matter of personal hygiene, your connection with the girl, or any of that bullshit. You may want to think about that before booking if it's a deal breaker for you.

I visited FOD 3 times while staying in Cabarete for a month. Didn't stay overnight but had a great short time session with a different girl on each occasion. I received a similar email reply when I wanted to book last December. I was able to overcome it but ended up in the suite room for a 10 day stay at a higher price (compared to a single room) than I would have liked. What I figured out is that the persons replying to email inquiries are english as second language capable and as a result their customer service responses are not what we are used too. Yes, they are offputting and fustrating by email. This is certainly an area that John the Owner can improve upon. When you arrive in person, the customer service is fine and you will have an enjoyable time.

As to the BBBJ, the answer is, it depends. Some do & some don't. If it's a deal breaker for you then just ask the girl upfront and move onto another. Personally, I prefer a BBBJ, but I also respect a girl who puts her health first. It also shows good sense that the management encourages the awareness of health issues amoung the girls.

Some people like strawberry and some like pistaschio, thats why there is Sosua and a BB's, let's let everyone be happy.

Unfortunately this is what happens after a place has been sucessful for so long. If you are used to dealing with making reservations in the DR you know that response is not uncommon and probably not meant to be rude. The bbbj thing is a big deal to most guys who have been going for a while as to me, bbbj is the norm. Its kind of like lets say a popular restaurant that youve been going to for a long time, after a while they start serving instant mashed potatos instead of real, and you can tell they pre-cooked the meat because your chewing it like its a piece of gum. But everyone goes because its got the reputation. Years ago everyone bashed the Sosua Palace over this place but it was 4 times the size of the Sosua Palace. Palace John lost a lot of business for a while because of that. More then once Ive met guys and you hear about his "Pimp/Monger" friend who fucks everything in site, throws underground parties with tons of hoes and cant walk down the block without a girl running up and kneeling in front of him trying to pull down his zipper. Then you talk to the guy and the underground parties he throws is really a party in a club that has one every week, not his. and he goes to Blackbeards when hes in DR. When i hear the word Blackbeards I just laugh, I know the guy is full of it. Don't get me wrong, its perfect for a newbie. But after a few trips I'm sure most guys feel like they are in the kiddie pool.

I have been mongering in the DR since I found Jimmy DR's site, the one before this, and have plenty of experience meeting chicas in the clubs, at the beach, at the supermarket etc.
I have spent plenty of time in Sosua, Santo Domingo, etc. in search of the best pay for play chicas I could find.

Even with all the access to the other options, I still enjoy stopping at BB's each time I am in the DR. It's not because I'm a newbie or lack the skills to do otherwise, but for the following reasons:

1. I always find girls I like there. I never have to worry about negotiations gone bad or poor performers. GIrls like that do not survive here. The money issues is resolved upfront, and the girls compete with one another, so the poor performers don't last.

2. The prices are good. Last trip I spent a few hours taking girls, one after the other, in the Jacuzzi where they did it all for 500 pesos and we had a blast. That's less than $15 per chica! (That's the rate for short time in the Jacuzzi). When I felt like taking a longer time in the bedroom with a chica I liked, I always got 2 hours or so for about $40 tip included.

3. I find the rooms and bed really comfortable, among the best places for the money I've stayed in while in the DR.

4. I like the restaurant. Food is good and reasonable.

5. Overall, you can relax, get to know the girls, have fun and for me being "relaxed" results in a lot better time in the bedroom.

That said, I always divide my trip so I have some time to go to Sosua (or other city) so I can have a couple nights to scope the chicas in the club. The last trip I had really great luck and met some 2 of my new all time favorites this way. It was a great trip, combining both Sosua and BBs.

Just my perspective; don't feel like you are a wannabe monger if you go to BBs. It is well run and I think you will have a blast. Happy travels, amigos.

Right - I've stayed there twice and was never made aware of that either (maybe it's a private arrangement in this case?). But even a BJ in the jacuzzi isn't all that great if it's covered...

Personally, I think Blackbeards has a really good thing going, and I've definitely enjoyed both of my stays there. Overall, I think the quality of girls they have is slightly better than Sosua, and sessions are usually good and enthusiastic (though I have run into a couple of bad performers there - Alba on my first trip in '08, and blond bikini contest winner Quince on my second trip in August of last year). And though most relented in the end, it was still a pain in the ass dealing with the new condom blow job policy last time, which really hit us out of left field.

ABout the Jacuzzi. . . One night I had eight different girls, one after another in the Jacuzzi. Just a quick note about BB Customer service.... I emailed about room availablity and got a very fast reply twice. It was a very short reply, brief and to the point but helpful. We have talked it up on various boards - and the majority of mongers are not making multiple trips a year - they go once a year if that and go with a couple of friends... not doing it alot they find it great and cheaper than the Viking Resorts thing which is double expensive if not more and they stay busy too

Blackbeard's (BB) is a great adventure. I signed up for the newsletters months before I actually went the first time. In all cases, mongers are warned to book early....maybe 30 days in advance. I am planning to go in May and booked it last month.

I personnally met John (owner) on my first trip. I did not know it, but he was on the same plane from Miami (AA979) that I was. Rode with him in the taxi to BB. He seems to be a no-nonsense kind of guy, but not rude or disrepectful. I did not get the impression that he tolerates rude and disrepectful behaviour from his staff.

When I get email responses from BB, NG, etc, I have to keep in mind that English is not their first language. I also have to keep in mind that they get 100's of emails a day for everything from questions that can found if the person had actually read the website to actual reservations requests.

I am not sure that any disrepsect was meant in the response, but it was terse and to the point in an effort to get back to you in timely manner and it was mostly answered by someone who provided the most direct transliteration possible.

See my previous post above about El Centro de Promoción y Solidaridad Humana; it is not a rule made up by Black Beards. It is part of a national outreach program designed to suppress the growth of HIV/AIDS and other STDS in the DR.

Although less risky than bare back intercourse, BBBJ is not classified as safe sex. Nothing where you can exchange body fluids is safe. WHile the HIV risk might be comparably a lot lower, there are a lot of other serious risks over the long term related to HPV and throat cancer.

:confused:I found out now that there is no problems with getting BBBJ in Sosua. I have been here 1 day and had no problems finding candidates willing to provide that service. I will see whats up with BB later in the week.. So far I am loving Sosua. It is fast paced at night but there are just so many choices to choose from here. Also, a lot of young girls on the block. I got a lot of offers from them.. trying to be careful. Also, no problems walking around at night by myself...

Don't get hung up on perception. Just have fun and enjoy yourself. BB's has rules, but you can still have a good time. And as you see Sosua is wide-open. :wink:
