Chinatown thief murdered

In Chinatown, a man who snatched a chain off a young woman's neck as she left the Elias Jewelry Store at 2:40pm yesterday was shot and killed by an individual who was accompanying the woman. When the man, as yet unidentified and carrying no documents, stole the chain from the girl and tried to get away on a moped, her friend chased him in his car, hit the thief and then shot him in the chest as he lay on the ground. No details about the man were available, because he fled the scene.
