In La Romana two men were riddled with bullets after they left a cockfighting arena. One of the men was wanted for extradition. The authorities said that Alfredo Rodriguez, a man with several nicknames, including "Nino Pata de Palo", "Nino Pata Corta" and "Nino La Fragancia", was hit 21 times inside his Lexus SUV. Also killed in the incident was Juan Arturo Donastorg. The Police found RD$306,000 in cash inside the vehicle. Rodriguez had RD$216,000 in his pockets and Donastorg had RD$85,500, according to Hoy newspaper. The newspaper also said that Donastorg was carrying a 9mm CZ85 pistol with dated permit. He had been requested by the authorities in Puerto Rico to face charges of drug trafficking. Rodriguez, Nino La Fragancia, was the owner of the Hotel Golden Sweet. According to Diario Libre, he is linked to the fugitive "Tono Lena", who belongs to the Figueroa Agosto drug network.
