The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) authorized the transfer of ownership of Tricom and TCN Dominicana to Hispaniola Telecom Holdings, LTD (Hispaniola Telecom). Diario Libre reports that on 30 December 2009, the Central Bank had opposed the transfer, but Indotel rejected the opposition.
