President Leonel Fernandez decorated movie actress Zoe Saldana at the Presidential Palace yesterday with the order of Duarte, Sanchez and Mella. Fernandez was accompanied by First Lady Margarita Cedeno, and Vice President Rafael Alburquerque. Upon receiving the decoration, Saldana urged Dominican youth to forge ahead. She highlighted the Dominican solidarity with Haiti following the 12 January earthquake.
Saldana was accompanied by her mother, Dominican Salia Saldana, her stepfather Dagoberto Galan, grandmother Argentina and two brothers.
Zoe Saldana was honored with the awards of Most Oustanding Artist Abroad and International Casandra during the Casandra Awards that took place last night. The awards honor the best in show business in the DR.
