The director general of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Jacques Diouf was recognized with a medal for extraordinary contributions by the Office of First Lady Margarita Cedeno yesterday in Santo Domingo. Diouf is in Santo Domingo to participate in the preparatory conference for the donor summit for the building of Haiti scheduled for New York on 31 March. Diouf will also participate on Friday at an international conference, organized by the First Lady's Office, the First International Conference: Goals, Challenges and Options for Food Security in Times of Crisis. First Lady Margarita Cedeno is an extraordinary ambassador of the FAO. The conference will take place at the Presidential Palace.
