Milady de Cabral for deputy mayor

The editor of the best-selling cookbook in the DR, Milady de Cabral announced that she has accepted to be the running mate for Alfredo Pacheco of the PRD. Pacheco is the leading competitor to city mayor Roberto Salcedo, of the PLD who is running for his third term at the city government. Cabral, known also for her televised cooking shows, lived abroad for many years as a diplomat. She was first named consul general in Amsterdam, Holland in 1995 by President Joaquin Balaguer of the PRSC. But she would continue abroad moving to the consulate in Frankfurt when President Leonel Fernandez of the PLD won the Presidency in 1996.
