President Leonel Fernandez was at the reopening of the Hospital Rodolfo de la Cruz Lora in Pedro Brand, Km. 28 of the Duarte Highway yesterday. The hospital previously was the leading center for treating tuberculosis, but it has now been converted into a full service hospital. The government says it invested RD$268 million in the remodeling. The hospital now has 180 beds and will primarily serve the Pedro Brand community of 80,000 inhabitants and nearby areas. The hospital is located next door to the Psychiatric Hospital that needs to be remodeled.
