Diario Libre publishes today a follow up on TV journalist Nuria Piera's revelation that a sister of the Minister of Public Health is irregularly profiteering through her company, Meta Seguros that offers life and accident insurance to ministry employees. Public Health Minister had commented he inherited the practice of employee discounts for insurance and that the contract with the insurance company was dated to 2001. Diario Libre reports that the company was authorized in August 2005, in a memorandum signed by Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez himself. Diario Libre writes that subsequently on 21 September 2005, after authorizing Meta Seguros, Rojas Gomez rescinded the previous insurance contract agreement signed in 2001 with the Correseguro, S.A. company.
