Kidnapping Division experts of the Police rescued alive and well businessman Jose Alam Perez, who had been kidnapped on Tuesday, 23 March at 8am at the Calle Privada or Sector Cancino, in Santo Domingo Este, where his block factory is located. The kidnappers were demanding 3 million for his return.
The Police arrested Julio Amado Pichardo Paulino at the Multicentro La Sirena of Bartolome Colon Calle in Santiago when he was retrieving RD$140,186 from Vimenca (Western Union). The money had been deposited by Alam's wife, Maria Aracelis Soto Baez at the request of the kidnappers.
With the Police on the trail of Pichardo's accomplices, these abandoned Alam Perez at 7:30pm near the entrance to San Francisco de Macoris.
