President Leonel Fernandez was in Juan Dolio yesterday for the inauguration of the Marbella by Metro Country Club high-rise complex. During the ceremony, President Fernandez promised that the government would pave the streets of the beach resort town. Grupo Metro president Luis Jose Asilis says the five-tower complex involves a US$100 million investment.
Fernandez said: "I am sure that in years to come, especially after this first part that the area of Juan Dolio will be one of the strategic areas, one of the tourism centers with the greatest development in the DR, with a major impact on the growth of the communities." Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garcia was also present at the inaugural.
