In a rare occurrence, the National Police and the Dominican National Human Rights Committee were in agreement that the Justice Department needs a firmer hand in dealing with hired killers who make a mockery of justice when they are caught and brought to trial. They said that the judges and prosecutors have to be stronger when dealing with these criminals.
Speaking separately, National Police spokesperson Colonel Nelson Rosario and Human Rights Committee coordinator Virgilio Almanzar said that these hit men's activities have increased, and one of the solutions is to make sure that these individuals are not allowed to return to the streets so easily.
