Thieves broke into the Ave. Nunez de Caceres branch of Nacional supermarket and Viva telecom shop at the store prior to opening on Sunday. Banco Popular spokesman Jose Marmol denied reports that the bank had suffered any losses, as reported in Hoy.
Supermarket spokesperson Vicky Malla said that the store's security alarm did not go off.
One of the police officers investigating the case said that the thieves had stolen whisky and food, but this has not yet been confirmed.
The thieves reportedly entered through the roof and moved all the surveillance cameras to prevent being recognized.
