The Supreme Court of Justice will hold a hearing tomorrow against Senator Dagoberto Rodriguez Adames and five others accused of violating Environmental Law by cutting down trees in the Lago Enriquillo area. Diario Libre reports that Rodriguez Adames, Manuel Herasme Mercedes, Angel Uribiades Volquez Perez, Angelmiro Herasme Mercedes, Yonasis Ubraez, Juan Francisco Perez and Julio Cesar Reyes Perez were sent to trial by the SCJ Special Instruction Judge Edgar Hernandez. According to Environmental Prosecutor Andres Chalas, the lawmaker ordered the felling of trees over more than 4,000 square meters of land in the protected area.
