More than 50 business representatives, legislators and government officials from the Spanish autonomous region of Asturias will visit the DR for talks with local business leaders and government officials from 9 to 12 April. The visit is being organized by the Presidency of the Principality of Asturias and the Spanish Embassy in the DR and Ambassador Diego Bermejo. It also is sponsored by the Dominican-Spanish Chamber of Commerce, the Dominican Embassy in Spain and Ambassador Cesar Medina, and Spanish expatriate businessmen in the DR, Jose Luis Corripio (Pepin), Garcia brothers, San Miguel, Gonzalez Cuesta and Garcia Arevalo, among others. The Spanish mission is on a Latin American tour. The DR will be the first stop before continuing on to Panama and Mexico.
The mission arrives on Friday evening. Meetings have been organized with business groups and there will be a lunch at the Casa de Espana. On Sunday at noon, they will travel to Santiago for a working luncheon with business groups there.
