Easter celebrations

Choose the serenity of church services or the energy of concerts at the beach. With full house occupancy expected at tourism destinations nationwide, artistic performances follow. For instance, on Easter Thursday, 31 March, Mass of Chrism will be held at 9am and a second mass at 8pm at the Cathedral of Santo Domingo. Resurrection mass is at noon on Sunday, 4 April, also at the Cathedral. Church youth groups will be celebrating on the Malecon at 3pm.
But then there are free concerts with El Jeffrey, Krispy, Sexappeal and more on Cabarete beach. On 2 April, Jellyfish Restaurant in Bavaro presents Frank Lorber, Roman Flugel and Alter Ego, playing electronic music, in style of Frankfurt and Ibiza Co**** Clubs.
Spring Festival sponsored by Presidente is the biggest party on Saturday and Sunday, with merengue, reggaetton, salsa, bachata, techno-tipico and Caribbean music fusions that can be danced to for free at around 30 different stages nationwide.
On Saturday, 3 April, Daddy Yankee is at Altos de Chavon in La Romana, and Alexis & Fido will perform in Las Terrenas, Samana. Punta Cana is advertising their Sound Fest 10 with Franz Ferdinand and Rita Indiana y los Misterios.
