The Commercial Banks Association says there will be no extension of the 30 April date for the use of new checks in the DR. All checks need to be replaced as of 1 May 2010. The new check format is part of the Project for the Reform of the System of Payments (SIPARD) that establishes new standards in security and paper for the checks.
