The crew members of "Nuria en el 9" investigative journalism program were arrested and taken to the Police Headquarters when they were filming the front of the home of Police Chief Rafael Guzman Fermin from a distance.
Guzman Fermin has been one of the first to submit his financial statement, as is now required of Police and National Drug Control Department officers.
The producer said she spoke with the security officer at the residence and clarified what they were doing, but then a counter-order came for their arrest. The cameraman and the reporter were arrested and taken to the station in the TV program's own vehicle by an officer who refused to identify himself.
Nuria Piera herself then followed the team to the Police station. She said the agent had driven recklessly on the way to the station.
As reported in Hoy, the Police chief ordered the journalists to be released and on Friday morning, he visited Nuria Piera at her home to apologize.
