The National District Prosecutor Office has ordered the arrest of Faustino Perozo, involved in the drug trafficking case of former army captain Quirino Ernesto Paulino Castillo. The US judiciary had requested his extradition, but later desisted. The DR judiciary did not press charges against him because it was thought his role within drug trafficking operations would be heard in the New York court that is responsible for the case against Paulino Castillo. The National District prosecutors say they will press charges for asset laundering and for possession of false Dominican IDs, as reported in Hoy.
