The local representative of the Inter American Development Bank (IDB), Manuel Labrado said yesterday that the Dominican economic growth figures reflected a very positive performance over several years. Labrado highlighted the International Monetary Fund's recent praise for the country's economic performance as well as the solidarity shown by the Dominican Republic towards neighboring Haiti in the wake of January's earthquake. He said that such praise from the IMF, the "chiefs" of the world economy, was indeed something of which the country could be proud.
