One of the best-known living writers in the Spanish-speaking world, Mexican Carlos Fuentes will meet Dominican audiences during the 13th International Book Fair that opens in Santo Domingo on 21 April. He is booked for a talk at the main hall of the National Theater.
Others coming for the event are Spanish writer Victor Andresco who has worked as a literary critic for El Pais and ABC, Mexican filmmaker Adela Fernandez, and Paloma Jorge Amado, daughter of late Brazilian author Jorge Amado.
The organizers say that in total, 114 authors from 14 countries and 18 writers from the Dominican diaspora in the US are coming for the event.
This year the event is dedicated to Mexico, and late poet Freddy Gaton Arce.
