I need to get a picture of Wilfried ( Who manages the New Garden Hotel ) photoshopped onto a NYC SCENE like with the STATUE OF LIBERTY or something similar. There are a couple of shots of him here, incl the ones from Yayows Birthday Bash.
He and I were talking , and he asked if I could start a thread in the appropriate Section for him (he is too trusting):rofl:

Anyway , He is COMING TO NYC on 9/16- 9/25...he gave me a print, and was pretty sure of these exact dates.
So I thought also it might be nice , if we plan perhaps a little get to gether here in NY for him... perhaps Dinner and a Titty bar, or what have you..
Any and all thoughts would be most appreciated. esp with respect to what Hotel would be most centrally located so he can get the full Flavor of NYC and the Boroughs.

thanks in advance

Hotels run $100 t0 $10,000 a night here. What does he want to pay?

Im guessing on the lower end, maybe someone here has a connection with a Hotel ? I was thinking Queens would be more centrally located, as its closer for the guys on Long Island. I would not mind coming in from NJ.
I can get him an Apt in the Bronx, but i dont think he wants to travel from Pelham Bay . Its early yet. What section should this be posted in ? I just thought I would ask the question first, and get your approval as well. Im sure Wilfried knows a lot of the guys here on the board ,but I guess cause I speak with him in German he thought I could convey it better ? I dont think he is counting on a Free place to stay, but if it were offered, I dont think he would refuse it either.

There are many Hotels in LIC, Queens. I like the Holiday Inn in Queens

Walk to 3 strip clubs, train and it has a nice lounge and pool.

Ok so I got the full scope on Club Quarters, I can book for the days but it must be done within 7 day time frame. She said it will be 40 dollars a night (60 after taxes and fees) for any night they have low occupancy and usually on the weekends it will go up to 150 a night (friday saturday). I can't book it now because its way to early

Wilfried - I'll look to come into the city for dinner when you're there - if you have time. There's probably a good number of ISOC guys from the northeast area who would be interested and maybe like to make a little event out of it.

Regards ....

Lots of time to plan. But maybe the 17th (Fri) or 18th (Sat) if it works in with Wilfried's schedule - in case things get late or people would like to travel and make a weekend out of it. I guess we should check with him to see if he's up for it !!

We should go to the Hitching Post in NJ and there is a restaurant near there that is pretty good.

Hello Wilfried,

If you only have two days in DC and want to cover a lot of ground. I would stay as close to the action as possible.
The J.W. Marriott is perfect for that although on the expensive side. It is walking distance to most of the major attractions. I am sure that there are less expensive alternatives that some one from the area there can offer, but in the same proximity, but I stayed there the last time I was in DC for sightseeing and it was great.

I parked my car on arrival and didn't have to get back in the car until five days later when I was leaving.

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/wasjw-jw-marriott-hotel-washington-dc/

Edit: strike the thought of staying here unless you get a reasonable rate. I checked internet rates for the dates you will be in town and I am sure you can find something close to the attractions without paying those rates. I must have gotten some crazy deal as I didn't pay anything close to what they are quoting currently.

Wilfried, I was in DC for the past 9 years. Stay out in VA near a metro stop and you can get a much cheaper hotel. Metro is the way to get around DC, especially if you are there during the weekday, traffic is crazy.

Hit up the smithsonians, you will love them. I can spend all day in the Museum of Natural History. Walk around the national mall, there is so much to see there with all the monuments. Stay out of Southeast. LOL It ain't that bad to me, but I was the dumbass walking around Patpong, Bangkok at 3am alone. So I would advise against it.

You HAVE to stop by Ben's chili bowl in U street (13th and U St. NW), they have the best chili cheese fries and chili half smokes. I would also reccommend Dukum Ethiopian Resteraunt on 12th and U NW.

If you are there on a friday night check out the Park at 14th, very nice lounge with good scenary.

If you want to see the hood chics strippin, Louis Rouge is a pretty safe spot (Just don't talk to the "girls" outside, they are tranny's) The House may be a little harder to get to, but its been there for years (Penthouse), if you are really adventurous and have someone to take you there, Skylark is always cool, but REALLY ghetto. There are also some places in Bmore and PG County I would recommend, but those you would need someone to take you there.

Daam. Wish I'd looked at this thread earlier. You'll be in my neck of the woods. Are you renting a car? If not, know that the Days Inn, Arlington is a $7 cab ride from the nearest Metro station (Pentagon City). The Super Shuttle (1-800-BLUE-VAN) will be about $30 each way to/from Dulles which is 20 mi. out of town.

PM me with your cell when you get into town and we'll get you started. DC can be fun.
