The Ramos Group, one of the DR's largest retailers, has opened a third store in Santiago, a huge 8,500m2 megastore located on the Duarte Highway in the Embrujo area. In the last few years, the group has opened stores in Puerto Plata, San Francisco de Macoris and La Vega, and now the megastore on the eastern edge of Santiago.
Mercedes Ramos, the group's president and CEO said that the Sirena store would create 400 jobs and that the new site on Rafael Vidal Avenue is a RD$650 million investment. She also said that the Ramos Group was one of the nation's largest taxpayers, contributing over RD$3 billion in taxes to the government coffers.
As part of their community support programs, the group is one of the active supporters of Accion Callejera, an NGO that works with boys and girls at risk.
