The authorities have indicted the owner of the Templastisa plastics business, Janble Vasquez, on charges of fraudulently installing 125,000kw/h in his company. The business is located on the Mella Highway in Santo Domingo East.
The assistant prosecutor for the Electricity Sector, Moises Ferrer, said that in addition to its normal electricity contract, the company also had an irregular connection that supplied electricity to a LPG filling station, a car wash, and the Santo Domingo East city council offices (ASDE). He revealed that the council paid the company up to RD$400,000 for the electricity it supplied to the municipality, and that this agreement was set out in a written contract.
The magistrate issued an international arrest warrant for Vasquez, who is currently out of the country.
