National Drug Control Department (DNCD) agents have found the remains of two occupants of a small plane suspected of carrying drugs that crashed on the southeastern coast off Saona Island last weekend. A wallet with 205,000 Colombian pesos, a Colombian military ID and documents in the name of Jaime Alfonso Alvarado Paniagua were retrieved, as well as one of the plane's tires. The plane is known to have crashed and burned on the island. Initial reports suggested that the plane had been shot down, but the DNCD has denied this. The remains were sent to the Santo Domingo Institute of Forensic Pathology for analysis.
