Figueroa Agosto investigator killed

A second lieutenant from the special investigations team working on the case of fugitive Puerto Rican drug trafficker Jose David Figueroa Agosto and the murder of lieutenant Guillermo Tejada Kranwinkel was shot to death over the weekend. Police report that officer Victor Manuel Mieses Lorenzo died of a bullet wound to his neck when he was leaving his house, while two individuals were robbing a sports betting store, Olympia Sport located on km22 of the Duarte Highway. The thieves made away with RD$22,000. Other recent killings of people linked to the Figueroa Agosto case include the murders of former police colonel Jose Amado Gonzalez, Jose Gabriel Arias Castillo and Ramon Antigua Paniagua, according to El Dia.
