The Chamber of Accounts has delivered the results of 162 audits conducted in 2009 to the National Congress. Their report, titled "Analysis and Budgetary Evaluation of the Government" is included along with 162 audit reports.
The director of the Chamber of Accounts, Licelot Marte de Barrios, said that the audits were carried out on 22 political parties that receive state resources. She said all were found to be in violation of the law and suggested that they make better use of the money from the state and the Central Electoral Board (JCE). She added and that 43 auditors had been dismissed from the Chamber of Accounts - not 60, as reported. She said that the dismissals had taken place after evaluations by the Public Administration and the UNDP (United Nations Development Program).
