05/2010 - My 70th birthday party

On Tuesday 11th May I will be celebrating my 70th birthday with a few friends in Puerto Plata.

If you are interested in dropping in to say "hello" and wish me a Happy Birthday I should be pleased to welcome you. Strictly no presents, please, so that is one thing less to worry about, and no need to bring a bottle unless it is for yourself to drink.

Free Presidente Regular or Light, free rum and mixers, coffee, tea, and juice will be served from 1.00pm until 6.00pm. Free pizza will be served around 2.30pm. There is a bar on site for those who wish to buy other drinks at reasonable prices.

There is a pool so you can bring a swimsuit and towel if the weather is warm.

I have already invited a dozen or so (mostly Haitian) whores and can invite more if there are enough unattached guys coming. You are welcome to bring your own chica if she will be comfortable with that scene. Music will be Dominican and Haitian.

At 7.00pm some of us will set off for a bar crawl round Puerto Plata while others may already have headed back to Sosúa, Costambar, or wherever.

If you are interested in coming, please PM me with your email address and/or celular and I will send more details.

The venue is small and I am trying to keep the male/female ratio workable so please let me have your earliest commitment if you are coming. I don't want to have a big surplus of either chicas or guys. Also state if it is OK to add you to an online guestlist here which could help guys to arrange to share transport. Or you could arrive by publico (45 pesos from Sosúa).

This duplicates a post in a higher level here as I wanted to give those guys first refusal.

Yes, I know you do. It'll be like "Les Diaboliques". When I am looking at the party photos afterwards to write a report, I will see a shadowy figure in the more distant group shots whom no-one remembers seeing at the party. Possibly wearing a blonde wig, false breasts and a navy blue baseball cap turned sideways. (Little bit of "Dressed to Kill" thrown in there too).

Looking at the medium range forecast we may have picked the best afternoon out of seven:
Sunny with cloudy periods with a slight chance of showers or thundershowers. Windy at times.
It doesn't usually rain in the afternoons but if the worst happens Billy will open up an empty condo and we will move inside.


Transport
You can get to La Javilla by publico or the Rio San Juan guagua for 45 pesos. Then walk or motoconcho (25 pesos) up the hill.

Anyone willing to offer lifts please post here and then sort it out between you with PMs and phone calls. Thanks.

Now although Tottenham have this very week broken the big 4 stranglehold in English football and therefore would be most appropriate to see it fluttering above Harbor View, I feel that it would be insulting to you to bring this flag as I believe that you once wrote that you support Charlton Athletic. A reminder of a far more successful English team just wouldn't be right on your special day.

Especial thanks to the Thunderstars who organized a cake, to ErikS for getting the music working, and to Billy for tending the bar all afternoon when he would rather have been in the pool with the chicas. (He shares my preference for flaca haitianas).
