With Cesar Pina Toribio representing President Fernandez and cutting the ribbon, Coastal Dominicana has inaugurated a huge tank farm on the south coast, with a capacity for storing a million barrels of petroleum products. The storage depot will supply the local market as well as markets on other islands in the Caribbean. Puma Dominicana, S.A. is the result of an alliance between Coastal Dominicana and Puma Energy International. The new petroleum terminal received its operating permit from the Director General of Customs, Rafael Camilo, who also attended the opening ceremony.
The tank farm is the second stage of its modernization process and has improved facilities for filling tank trucks, a better anchorage for larger ships and a pumping station capable of moving 500m3 of fuel per hour on a continuous basis.
