Following a joint operation between Interpol and the Dominican National Police, Luis Alfonso Reyes (Luis la Perra) and Raul Florentino Baez Medina (Mayimbe) who are members of the "10 Most Wanted" list in the country are now under arrest.
Both men are accused of gunning down Army captain Lucilo Reyes on 19 February 2010. According to the details revealed by the Police, Listin Diario says that the two, Luis La Perra and Mayimbe shot and killed Diaz in revenge for a "drug heist" involving EUR100,000. The money had come from a woman who worked as a drug courier. The Army captain was involved in a network of Migration agents and military officers who facilitated the movement of the "mules".
The authorities in the Netherlands located the two fugitives and informed the Dominican authorities, who forwarded their "sheets" and fingerprints for positive identification. Special agents were sent to the Netherlands to pick up the suspects and return them today for arraignment.
