The Administrative Chamber of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) revealed that none of the candidates for congressional or municipal posts is under arraignment or indictment, according to an investigation by the National Drug Control Department (DNCD) and the Attorney General of the Republic. Magistrate Jose Angel Aquino reported that the results of the investigation are of a "confidential nature" and for this reason they were not released to the media. What is important is to determine if any of the nominees was subject to an indictment.
In the case of the PLD mayoral candidate for the municipality of Los Guayacanes, Danilo Feliz Torres, whose rivals challenged his candidacy by accusing him of belonging to fugitive drug smuggler Jose Figueroa Agosto's network, it was pointed out that the Disputes Chamber had granted his appeal.
