Modern alcohol distillery in San Pedro

Vice President Rafael Alburquerque has attended the inauguration of a new alcohol distillery in San Pedro de Macoris, a RD$1 billion investment built with European Union co-funding. The company, Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos (AFD) has the capacity to produce 55,0000 liters of a day by fermenting sugar cane. The plant is said to be the most modern in the world capable of producing alcohol for human consumption. Jose Hazim Frappier, president of the board of directors of AFP made the announcement. Ron Barcelo and Ron Siboney will be using the services of the distillery, as reported in Diario Libre. Jose Hazim said that when hiring new employees, priority was given to students at the Universidad Central del Este in San Pedro.
