The money the Central Electoral Board (JCE) has spent on equipment, materials and services related to the running of the congressional and municipal elections has reached RD$334.559,428.47. The information was supplied by the JCE "in the interest of achieving transparency in the process of contracts and purchases of goods and services" going into the elections. It was also their idea to keep the people informed of the spending and expenses that the JCE incurs.
In the lists of contracts awarded there is the one for National Public Tender 14 (LPN-14) for the agency that would produce the publicity campaign for the elections. The cost was RD$12,992,000 and the tender was won by Publimega, S.A.
The JCE contracted the services of Radio Television al Servicio de la Educacion, S.A. (Educatel) for the production and transmission of Election Day results for radio and television. They won the Restricted Tender and their services will cost RD$7.4 million.
The JCE spent RD$8.4 million on 300,000 voting boxes and 13,800 organizers for ballots. The tender was won by Industria de Sobres Dominicanos.
In another tender, the Cartonera Rierba Company won the contract to make 43,000 voting stalls at a cost of RD$6.6 million.
The overall cost of the printing of the election ballots was RD$19 million and was divided between the Editora Corripio, Editora de Revistas, Omnimedia and Editora del Caribe printing companies.
