Listin Diario journalist Esteban Delgado, who has just returned from China where he visited the Shanghai World Fair, reports that the DR is not making the most of its large stand area. China donated the space and equipped it for the DR. Delgado comments that better coordination between the Center for Export and Investments and the Ministry of Tourism would have resulted in a better-utilized space. Rita Guzman, in charge of events and fairs for the CEI-RD, nevertheless, said that the plan is to present the DR as a country that has it all. She hopes to promote the country's potential as a site for new investments. Some 192 countries are participating in the exhibition.
The Dominican Republic Day is scheduled for 5 October. Delgado reports that the DR is not included in the Caribbean pavilion, but rather with the stands of Central America and South America.
