AA flight to New York delayed

Flight AA122 from Santiago's Cibao International Airport to JFK International in New York was delayed yesterday shortly before takeoff. The airline was on the runway preparing for takeoff when it slid off the runway onto the grass. Cibao International Airport spokesman Santiago Gonzalez said that no one was injured, despite passengers panicking. The passengers were evacuated from the flight. Gonzalez said that AA mechanics had checked the airplane in the afternoon.
