Dominican ultra distance open water swimmer Marcos Diaz has completed the Oceania to Asia leg of his Swim Across the Continents. The 19.7km open water swim took him 4:11.38. He swam from Wutung Village in Papua New Guinea to Mabo in Indonesia. The event is geared at raising the voices of the world and show that we are not that far apart after all. His purpose is to bring global attention to the UN Millennium Development Goals and urge people to act and demand that our leaders deliver their promises by 2015.
