Sosua 6/3 to 6/8 with 2 other friends. Looking for a condo/villa to share. Got responses back so far from rockys (a 2br and a 1br condo), condos dominicanos (2br condo), casa linda (3 br villa) and hispaniola (2 br apartment and villa, and 3 br apartment and villas) but having difficulty deciding. I have stayed there on two occasions. Had an upstairs room with ac, double bed, ceiling fan. Safe was with a key, not digital. The pool was excellent as well as the bar. During the afternoon, usually around 4pm or so, a few freelancers would wander in and offer their services to any hotel guests or other clients who wandered over for a drink.

I liked it for the quiet at night as it is on the eastern edge of Sosua so not too many motos going by. You can walk to the central part of town where all the shit is in maybe 20-25 minutes. I made that walk several times in the early evening when I wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere. With a moto, about 3 minutes.

GREAT threads for the different hotels and condos in Sosua and the Sosua area. Maybe a thread listing the hotels that offered jacuzzis in some guest rooms? The hotels I have looked at didn't have jacuzzis in the rooms so I suspect the list of hotels that offer jacuzzis may be small. Anyone interested in that type of information? Have any of you guys stayed in jacuzzi suites in Sosua? Which MONGER FRIENDLY hotels have in room jacuzzi?

I would think a good cabana has what your looking for. Depending on the time of year in the DR and how hot it is sitting in extra hot water is not my idea of fun. If the weather is cool enough a jacuzzi is awesome but it also needs to fit at least 2 people and have some room left over for some fun. The smaller ones you find in bathrooms typically are so small fitting 2 people in them and having any room to spread out and have some fun isnt that easy and im not a big guy.

My favorite jacuzzi in Sosua was the one in the penthouse at the Palace. During the winter months when it was actually cool outside at night you could fit a bunch of chicas in there with you and have a hell of a time.

I can share some info with you but keep in mind it is not to answer where the ones JimmyDR is talking about are. But if it is useful to you then I am gratified.

I have flown out of STI on 4 of my last 6 trips to POP because of schedule changes with American Airlines. That sucks but to answer you question as you approach Santiago (STI) fron POP on the highway you will pass some cabanas before you enter the downtown area near TGI Fridays while still on the highway.

I don't think these look like the nicest ones in town but I could be wrong.
I would recommend by the airport STI on Duarte the highway that goes from the Monument to Santo Domingo that you start watching around Avenida Rafael Vidal and toward the airport. There are Many cabanas and some look real nice, I hope this helps you.

I have no idea...wasn't driving. DonTomas used to have a map of them, don't know if he ever posted it. There are a lot of them close together though. Really nice accommodations. psriches or cmike knows.

usually don't do ai's but cost wise it worked out cheaper than flight only as no need for a taxi to or from the airport to the resort.

I bought an Orange SIM card for 200 pesos and put it in my unlocked Sony phone.
Worked great and made several calls and a couple to Canada and still had plenty of credit left at the end of the week.

It came with 100 pesos credit INCLUDED for the 450 pesos. I have NEVER had a problem with Orange but have heard people having trouble with BOTH Orange and Claro at times. Maybe just isolated problems having more to do with the CHEAP phones than the cell service provider.

And when the pilot comes on the intercom to announce, "Flight attendants, prepare for landing," I just get all warm and fuzzy inside. "Get back, touch myself, good gawwwwd ya'll."

FYI the NG jacuzzis are the in the bathroom next to the toilet which bothered me slightly. In other hotels (US hotels not DR), the jacuzzi was in the living area space usually within viewing distance of the television and/or the balcony. It would be nice to know if there are any hotels in Sosua with jacuzzis offering a nice "view".

There is also La Roca cabana in Puerto Plata (On the main highway going to Santiago, on the edge of Puerto Plata).

It was $1200 pesos for a duplex room with a Jacuzzi, pole and a couple of sex chairs.

Wayland was the one who turned me on to this cabana, and he has a tread on POP cabanas.
