Jakob, a Swiss national, lived a relatively simple life here in Cabarete for the past 20 years.

He was known by all the locals and he always had a wink and smile for more than a fair share of local chicas.

He was a good man.

He also had more pussy during his time here than most of us will ever see.

He was a monger living the good life.

A few weeks ago he was robbed of less than 4,000 pesos in house by a young Haitiano.

Naturally he reported this to the police and identified his attacker.

2 weeks ago his body was found in his house, bound hand and foot and hanged by the neck over the back of one his dining room chairs.

His previously identified attacker was this week arrested for his murder.

It sort of loops back to my "Observations" thread.
Way too many young Haitianos (uneducated, impoverished, no perspective, mucho testosterone) in the area. And they certainly kill w/ a vengeance...

Reminds of the account of Bruno (70 yrs, German) who was killed in La Union in January by the haitian chulo of the chica. Suffice it to say that his friend who found him (despite villa, two cars, haitian wife and kid) is leaving the country for good. It was that gruesome and traumatic...

Yeah, she was caught and locked up a few months ago. It'll be a while before she's pulling scams again.

What a shame. In her case, she didn't do the actual killing, it was her (as WW so appropriately put), young Haitiano uneducated, impoverished, no perspective, mucho testosterone boy friend that did the killing.

And yes, there are more around now than ever. Most are hardworking, god fearing respectable folks, but this country has a HUGH problem with trying to catch the ones that escaped from prison during the earthquake.
