Warning of diphtheria along frontier

The president of the Dominican Pediatric Society called on the health authorities yesterday to be vigilant along the frontier in the face of the alarming increase in diphtheria cases in Haiti reported by the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC). Jose Brea del Castillo advised the authorities to assess the situation and reinforce epidemiological measures along the frontier, as well as maintaining and expanding their vaccination programs throughout the entire region.
