The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has increased the number of green alerts for provinces to 7, because of the continuing rains. The provinces subject to green alerts are San Pedro de Macoris, Monte Plata, La Vega, Monsignor Nouel (Bonao), and Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui). The decision was adopted by the COE in response to information received from the Meteorological Office (Onamet) that is forecasting more scattered rains and thunderstorms across most of the country. Most of the rainfall is expected along the frontier with Haiti, in the central mountains and in the northeast and north of the country.
