Power outages, between 4 and 6 hours, and as long as 10 and 12 hours in duration, are repeatedly received by residents in the National District, Santo Domingo Province, and cities in El Cibao and the southern region of the country, according to a report by Listin Diario. The Superintendence of Electricity said the deficit was approximately 600 MW. The outages have been affecting neighborhoods of all income levels. According to report, there have been problems in the Cibao transmission lines and Santo Domingo Province, and in other cases there has been an overload in the urban transmission system of some cities.
