The PRD has divided into two groups after leaders who are rebellious to the authority of the top party directorate announced the formation of a movement, which they have paradoxically termed "Unitarian". Diario Libre reports the three-hour meeting took place at the farm of Rafael Subervi Bonilla in La Cuaba, Pedro Brand. The group is calling all party leaders across the nation to an assembly next Monday to announce their proposal "to the country and the party". Senator Jesus Vasquez announced that the group intends to "rescue" the PRD and lead it towards institutionalism. He specified the intention is not to divide the party, but rather to unify it.
