[DR1] Procurement bill passed by Senate

Last night, the Senate passed the Government Procurement bill with certain modifications that had previously been introduced by the Chamber of Deputies. This bill, which will now go to the Executive Branch for signing into law, eliminates one of the biggest obstacles for the DR-CAFTA, the details of which are currently under discussion in Washington, D.C. The approval of this bill by Congress will put an end to the "bridging decree" issued last March by President Leonel Fernandez.
