The Central Electoral Board (JCE) issued Bulletin 15 with the final results of the Sunday, 16 May congressional and municipal election. The bulletin includes the results from the 13,250 polling stations located in 155 municipalities nationwide. The count shows the ruling PLD and allies obtained 31 senators, 105 deputies, 92 mayors and 573 councilors. The PRD obtained 75 deputies, 57 mayors and 520 councilors. The PRSC won one senator, 3 deputies and 4 mayors.
The political parties to obtain the most votes were the PLD with 42%, the PRD with 39% and the PRSC with 6%.
Minority parties helped the PLD win in 17 provinces in which the party receives fewer votes than the PRD. The PRSC was the PLD's most important ally.
