While unheard of in the days of Verizon, mobile phone users today are suffering from numerous problems. Hoy newspaper focuses on several of these in a story today.
Notifications of missed calls that never rang for whom they were made to, loss of signals inside buildings in urban areas, connections that disconnect, among others. Hoy reports though that what is consistent is the high rates charged by the telecom companies.
The article observes that these are some of the problems that have led the president of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) to warn that the deterioration of the service is affecting the country's competitiveness.
